    • Grown in rich clay on limestone soil, the vines are between 15 and 30 years old and pergola trained on terraces. Marano is one of the highest villages and these vineyards are mainly at 200m and face east. The objective is perfectly ripe fruit in loose bunches, this is the ideal for the drying process. During the two month long appassimento process, the grapes lose 40% of their weight and physically change and it is this transformation that is responsible for the unique bouquet and flavors.
This Amarone is fermented in stainless steel tanks at the very low temperature of 10-15°C. This is due to the low ambient temperature during winter. Following fermentation the wine is left to age for 36 months in 3000 litre oak barrels. Once bottled the wine remains in the winery for a further period of 8 months before its commercial release.

The wine is a deep ruby red tending towards garnet. The nose is rich and complex with aromas of sour cherries, blackberries, tobacco and candied fruits.  Rich and intense on the palate with similar fruit characters, fine tannins and exceptional length.
