This is the first NOM1414 tequila made using their new Tahona! It’s also released at 48% ABV - 96 proof! The higher proof delivers a nice nose with medium intensity. The cooked agave is strong and there’s a pleasant minerality along with some slight salinity. There’s also some zesty citrus, a hint of melon and some soft vegetal notes. The flavors are intensified by the proof but it’s not overly intense. The cooked agave is strong and so is the minerality that’s followed by some salinity. The citrus zest kicks in and it’s quickly followed by some zesty capsaicins. There’s a little bit of cinnamon and white pepper. Overall this is a great higher proof tahona blanco. It’s made in an artisanal way and the final product is of the highest quality.
