Luis Humberto Lopez was born and raised in San Dionisio Ocotepec, a small village located in the Central Valleys of Oaxaca. The a 3rd generation Zapotec mezcalero, he speaks Zapoteco, Spanish and English. Luis learned about his family's art and devoted his life to mastering the craft. As Luis grew older, he became more aware of the need for employment in his village. Using his family's land, he built his very own Palenque to help grow his community but also share his unique gift with the world. Using the first two letters of his and his parent's names, Sofia, Luis, and Roberto, as well as the year his village was founded, Luis's passion was brought to life as Soluro 1619. The Tobala is very complex offering zesty herbal and bright citrus coupled with rich earthy smoldering underbrush and aromatic spice.
