Red Hook Cocktail Set
Neo classic cocktail from Vincenzo Errico who bartended at the famed NYC bar, Milk & Honey (now Attaboy), in 2003. As was popular at the time, this is a riff off a classic Manhattan. But while others threw every liqueur and bitter into their creations, the Red Hook stays true to the simplistic form of a Manhattan. Hundred proof rye is necessary to keep the drink buoyant and Punt e Mes, a more bitter vermouth than the standard, must be used.
In a similar vein would be Thad Vogler's take on the Improved Whiskey Cocktail with the addition of absinthe and a lemon twist.
