Rare Barrel x Alvarado St Hello Friend Steel Cobra Hazy IPA
At this point, whatever IPA Rare Barrel wants to throw at me, I'll take it. Haven't had one short of amazing yet.
The beer focuses on aroma compounds known as thiols to yield distinct notes of zesty pomelo, pungent guava, and bright passionfruit. To amplify the overall level of available thiol precursors, a uniquely thiol heavy lot of Motueka was used in both the mash and the whirlpool. The beer was then fermented with the thiol biotransformitive Tropics yeast strain from our buds at Berkeley Yeast, to convert all those precursors into a tropical assault on your senses. A heavy handed dry-hop of Nelson Sauvin and Mosaic Cryo was utilized to finish off the project and really amp up the juiciness. Loaded with bright fruity aromas and bold tropical characteristics, Steel Cobra will leave you enveloped in hoppy delight.
