Paul-Henri Thillardon Moulin-a-Vent Alizes 2021

A fantastic Gamay in the style of light red wines from Jura. This one comes from the Cru area of Moulin a Vent. All about the purity of Gamay - elegance, character and light touch of funky - one of the young generation of wine producers in the Beaujolais area that craft some of the best wines there these days.  Medium-light body, beautiful expression of fruit and minerals. Fully carbonic. Strawberry, raspberry. Fresh, structured, beautiful.

 

The grapes are putted by gravity in concrete tank and nothing is added to the wines, even SO2. The juice during maceration and fermentation don’t get any pigeage or remontage. Maceration takes between 15 to 28 days depending of what they expect from the grapes. After this process, the grapes are pressed in an old vertical wood press from the 19th century, very slow press.
