Old Forester 1910 Old Fine Whisky Bourbon
Part of Old Forester's excellent Whiskey Row series, this bottle mimics a double barrel style that originated because of a fire in the rickhouse in 1910. The whiskey in charred barrels was transferred to new barrels to continue its aging, the first such documented case of double barreling. Whiskey is dropped in at 100 proof which "allows more of the sweet wood sugars to dissolve into the whiskey," according to Old Forester. After angel's share, comes out at 93 proof.
