La Clarine Farm Sierra Foothills Mourvedre 2020

Mourvèdre from two high-elevation vineyards in the Sierra Foothills – Cedarville and Sumu Kaw. Hank Beckmeyer knows these sites well and produces outstanding single vineyard wines from both.. Together, in the right years, they produce a compelling and joyous wine. A wine about up-front enjoyment and the bounty of a good harvest. Aromas of plum and thyme mingle with sweet earth notes. Perhaps a touch of nori seaweed. Medium bodied, with ripe fruit and tangy acids. Nice long finish with more herbal notes, cherry, and just the right amount of tannins to hold it all together. This wine should drink great from the get-go, and will probably age nicely for 4-5 years. A very slight chill is appealing. Pair it with fresh summer meals and warm summer nights. 123 cases made. 13% abv.
