House of Rare Tequila announced the launch of RAREcask Genesis PX, arriving in markets imminently. RAREcask Genesis PX is the inaugural expression of the RAREcask series, which is the first dedicated aging program in tequila. Mexico City-based founder Miguel Ortiz created the RAREcask series inspired by his deep passion for Scotch whisky and his professional experience in the private barrel business. RAREcask Genesis PX marks the first commercially released expression in the series, offered in 1,000-bottle lots. Originally distilled at the Arette Distillery, this extra anejo was fermented with wild yeast and aged three years in ex-bourbon barrels before finishing for at least three months in Pedro Ximenez (PX) sherry casks, with each lot resting in the PX barrels for a different duration. PX sherry casks have become the foundation of House of Rare’s aged expressions, shaping this release as well as the brand’s broader portfolio.
