Aged in charred American white oak barrels, then finished in Goodwood’s award-winning Bourbon Barrel Stout beer barrels, for a truly unique flavor profile. A distinctly different bourbon created with precise craftsmanship, unmistakable spice mingles with sweet caramel and vanilla to create a bourbon that is incomparably brash and bold, yet smooth and balanced.

 

There's plenty of overlap in the beer world with stouts and whiskey barrels.  Goodwood, being a renowned brewery already, decided to cut out the middleman and do it themselves.  Using bourbon barrels that previously held their award-winning stout, they refill with another round of bourbon, a 5 year old bourbon from their Owensboro neighbors, Green River, for 4 months.  Out comes a delicious chocolate bonanza.  My favorite note I picked up was chocolate covered raspberries.
