Donelan "Nancie" Chardonnay 2015
Aged in neutral oak, new oak (20%), stainless-steel, & concrete for 11 mo.
93 points Wine Advocate
The 2015 Chardonnay Nancie was aged in French barrels for 11 months, 20% new, and did not go through malolactic. It opens with a nose of ripe nectarines, pineapples and guava with underlying notes of butterscotch, cedar and brioche. The medium-bodied palate is elegantly fruited with plenty of vivacity, delivering intense tropical and stone fruit flavors plus a satiny texture and long finish, with a little cedar poking through. The 2015 Chardonnay Nancie emerges from a number of sites in Sonoma County. The flavors are intense and creamy, and yet the wine remains medium in body. Here, too, the wine delivers considerable fruit intensity and richness, but without excess weight. Hints of butter, orange peel, mint, and flowers shape the inviting finish. (AG) (1/2017)
92 points Wine Enthusiast
A rare offering for the Syrah-focused producer, this is a lovely, light-bodied and balanced white wine, sharp in acidity, with racy flavors of lemon and white flower. Complex and earthy, it finishes in silky texture and a subtle hint of oak. (VB) (3/2020)
