Blanco tequila rested for 20 days - shy of the 60 days to be considered a reposado - in wooden barrels like they would have done traditionally before stainless steel.  Except these barrels previously held mezcal and started their journey as French oak casks holding cognac.  Kiss of barrel, kiss of mezcal, whisper of cognac.
